You can call the NFA directly (304) 616-4500. You’ll need the serial number, trust name, and the dealer’s name. Then they will tell you the status.

With everyone seemingly going efile with form 1s, how long is the wait on paper with so few submissions coming in that way? Has anybody here filed a form 1 on paper after the efile began?

Why would a stamp that was pending a month after another one get approved first? Still waiting for the first one while I’m shooting the later dated submission. Weird.

Why? I work in an ATF regulated buisiness. I have licensing in several states and directly with the ATF. You’d think that with all the background checks I get each year, things would go quickly. Seems the opposite is true.
I don’t see any good in contacting a Senator.They are busy trying to get re-elected right now.

Losing Hope and All Bummed Out 8/21/2018

Not that long. I have 2 with checks cashed mid November 2017. Seeing these 2018 submissions getting approved is a little frustrating.

I’ve been told that I get flagged because of all the licensing I have. My line of work is regulated by the ATF and others. It seems the more background checks you pass, the more they want to look into why you have them.

AAC Tirant 45M on a form4 trust is in the FBI background check. Check was cashed 11/17/17.

Last week I purchased an HK USC. FBI background check took 10 minutes. Just sayin.

Waiting for my 2nd suppressor has been so much easier now that I have the first one to play with. …..but, now that the check cashed dates on my 2nd and 3rd cans are showing up on the Transfer Tracking chart, I’m back to the same impatience that drove me crazy the first time. Lol! Come on approvals with no whammies!

When your form is sent for the check, they will tell you it is at the FBI for a background check. It wouldn’t hurt to ask, but they do see it as a different status than “pending” in your file. In my experience, they will offer that information without being asked.

11/18/17. That’s great to hear. I have an 11/17/17 check cashing date, and it’s in the background check. My last two NFA items were approved in the low 300’s.

I called today and was told I was in the “FBI Background Check” zone. The first 3 stamps I received had this part of the process involved. What it meant, in my case, was the wait was in it’s last part of the process. It seems that this time frame is drastically different for different people, but this has been a good thing in my cases.
