  • Purchased Sparrow 22 and Deadair Nomad 30 from dealer stock 28 Jan 21. Checks cashed 3 Mar 21. Tax stamps and suppressors in hand 8 Feb 22. 376 days purchase to receipt.

  • From the ATF website regarding NFA item processing (Not sure what any of it means. I can only guess…):

    What we’re doing to improve
ATF is currently applying additional overtime resources and providing an increased level of effort to the research and perfection of pipeline applications. ATF will continue to surge application processing 7 days a…[Read more]

  • Of course I will be interested to see if they really “git ‘er done” in 90 days with efile. That would make more purchases a serious consideration. Hell, I’m old. I’ll be dead before these get approved. 😉

Tried to get on the ATF efile site today. It was down.

“We’re working to get back online as soon as possible”.

    I was shocked!…[Read more]

  • Ahhhhhhhh… 😉 356 days and still waiting. Last suppressor prior to these two took 270 days from purchase to pick up. Glad I’m in no hurry… lol.

    Peace.

  • Excellent! 🙂

  • I purchased a Gemtech 5.56 from dealer stock on 28 November 20. Received it on the 270th day after purchase. I purchased a .22 Sparrow and a .30 Nomad from dealer stock on 28 January 21. All suppressors were purchased via kiosk. 280 days so far for the last two… Patience, I guess. 😉

  • My last Tax Stamp took 270 days, total time from purchase to having it in my hand. That was from 28 Nov 20. I’m waiting on 2 more that I purchased from dealer stock on 28 Jan 21. If the 9 month wait time hasn’t changed I should be getting a call soon. All ya can do is hang in there. 😉

  • Probably around the end of the year, beginning of new year… 9 months or so, it seems.

  • Just received the call from my dealer… Gemtech 5.56 suppressor is ready to be picked up. Purchased from store stock on 28 Nov 20. Check cashed 29 Dec 20. Dealer called 24 Aug 21. 270 days total time, purchase to delivery. Whoot!!! 🙂

Two more to go, purchased from dealer stock 28 Jan 21.

  • 264 days now on my Gemteck 5.56, 202 days on my Sparrow .22 and Nomad 30 cal. I’m now willing to bet that the last bought will be the first approved. LOL.

    Anyway…

  • Congratulations! Slow, but moving. I see that some purchases made about the same time as ours had stamps in hand in less than 210 days. I guess it just depends on the examiners.. And the folks doing prints at the FBI.

    That makes sense. 🙂

I wonder if there is a large influx of orders slowing things down? I know that the examiners have been working from home throughout Covid. It was my understanding that fingerprint verification at the FBI is the bottleneck, and that there is simply no sense of urgency anywhere within the government portion of the process. 🙂 Ahhhhh well.

I’m guessing that no one is updating the NFA trackers here, and at SilencerCo? It looks like average wait times are well over 200 days from check cashed to approval for Individual Form 4s, yet both web sites are still indicating those wait times are between 155 and 170 days. Just curious.

  • I knew it would be a long process. My dealer told me it would probably be this long. 🙂 It’s starting to feel like Christmas is approaching… lol. Take care.

  • Purchased Gemtech Trek on 28 Nov 20. All data entered via kiosk. Check cashed 29 Dec 20. Still waiting. 235 days total, to this point. 204 days since check was cashed. I purchased 2 more suppressors on 28 Jan 21, checks cashed on 5 Mar 21. We shall see, I guess. 🙂
