Got approval on both form 4 trusts April 1 & 2, 2019. Checks cashed 3/12/18 and 3/18/18.
Just a couple of weeks over the 1 year mark.
No doubt in my mind that reaching out to my senators got these off the backlog pile at the FBI.-

I contacted my Senators and had them inquire to the FBI on my behalf and miraculously they got approved on the same day as the inquiry…
Took about 2 months and next time I will not wait 6 months on “fbi inquiry pending background check” before I start the process. -

Contact your Senators.
Ask them to inquire to the FBI on your behalf to get status of your background check as the ATF is stating that your form 4 or Form 1 has a status of “FBI inquiry pending background check”.
The Senators will have the forms for you to fill out.

So did you just automatically get a letter from the FBI or did you have to get a hold of someone at the FBI first?

I called the ATF today to get a status on 2 form 4 suppressor stamps, Pending: 3/14/18 and 3/20/18 and was told they are waiting on the FBI background check. I asked what is expected average wait time and I was told they will not give out a wait time as the FBI is back logged and ATF is not. Anybody else hear this same “FBI backlogged”…[Read more]
