Submitted my Form 1 – Individual – Paper to ATF for a Sig Sauer P556 SBR on January 1, 2018, the check was cashed on February 12, 2018, the application was approved on June 22, 2018, it was mailed with a postmark of July 3, 2018 and I received it today, July 7, 2018. The examiner was Terry Whittington, Jr.

That works out to a total of 173 days or 5 months, 22 days from start to finish. That’s 16 days less than my last Form 1 which took a total of 189 days or 6 months, 8 days from start to finish. While not a gigantic cut in processing time, I’m happy for all things, big or small, when dealing with the ATF/NFA.

Now I’m waiting on a Sig Sauer SRD556-QD can and a H&K SP89 SBR. If things follow past history, I should be seeing approval of the SP89 SBR around the end of October 2018 and the SRD556-QD MAYBE by the middle of January 2019. My earlier Sig SRD9 can took a total of 10 months, 11 days or a total of 314 days. My Beretta ARX100 5.56/.300 AAC might also hit around the same time as the SRD556-QD, so the 2nd half of this year is looking up…
