    Cashed/Pending: 4/11
    Approved 11/20
    Received: 12/17

I called FFL first week of December, they said they typically call same day they receive stamp. I ended up going in over the weekend and what do ya’know? stamp is in for one of the cans. It never hurts to stop in for a conjugal visit.

    My other one:

    Cashed: 4/29
Pending: 5/2 (always thought these were cashed and go pending at the same time)
Approved: ??? (called this morning still pending)

Please pardon my noobness here, but how are ya’ll getting this ‘Cashed/Pending/Approved’ status updates? Are you calling the ATF to find out?

The only thing I know is my two checks were cashed within a week after my trust was submitted (May 15th-ish) because I checked my online bank account.

Yes call the atf and they will
tell you when your cashed date was
and if it’s pending or approved.

Is there anyway to cancel a Form 4? Mine was sent back to the dealer for a typo (one digit off on the zip code). The dealer said that he corrected it and sent in back and that I’d “should” be approved before the end of the month…yup, December. My form was submitted in April, check not cashed and I’ve been told here and from the ATF that I go back to the bottom of the list.
If that’s the case, I’m not waiting an additional eight months for approval. Pretty stupid that I’d have to wait 16 months for something I paid for back in April.

you wont go to the bottom of the pile. youll just get pushed back until the examiner who did your form is finished with whatever form(s) he or she moved on to after yours was sent back. usually a couple weeks.

So the ATF is wrong? And the basis for your conclusion that the ATF will not do just as they said they did (or would) by sending it to the bottom of the pile, given that none of his information is in the system and the check isn’t cashed?

The ATF specifically told me during a brief that if they find an initial fatal flaw prior to cashing the check or running the card that they will kick it back to the applicant for a re-submission, not a “correction”. If they find a fatal flaw during the entry of the application into system and after cashing the check, they will issue a refund and return the application for re-submittal. That means to the back of the line. And in his case with the timing and with so many applications being submitted to could mean MONTHS of difference in approval.

Optimism, hoping and wishing isn’t a good strategy, especially when dealing with the government.

how is it they held onto your form 4 w/o cashing the check? ill bet your mistaken….all of my form 4’s were check cashed within 7-10 days of mailing them in

ive had 2 kicked back….ive had my stamp within 10-14 days after the correction…so i believe your close

ive heard they have someone look at the form before it goes to the inspector…they weed out problems ahead of time, so i dont even know if you lost any time at all….

getting forms kicked back seems common….both of my kick backs were for multiple reasons, each one had 1 odd aspect….one even had some issue with WI law and needed some statement added for them to accept it…none of the other form 4’s needed this wording…its just a crap shoot with who you get and how fussy they are.

    good luck

    Form 4 Trust,

Check cashed 6/21/16, Hopefully some time in Feb. Just got my Form 1 from May 28th. You think that they would do them at the same time. But no that would of been efficient.

Yes, but your check was cashed and your application was in the system. Don’t confuse your case with his.

Hopefully his case is like yours, but it is highly doubtful given that the ATF TOLD HIM it was going to the bottom of the pile.

how would they just hold onto your form for months and not cash the check? the check is cashed within a week…not 6-8 months later……why isnt your check cashed?

the letter says ” your going to the bottom of the pile?”’

    where does it say this?

if you check was cashed and you just got a letter stating you need to make a correction then your 2 weeks or less away from your item….

the situation doesnt make sense from my experience with multiple form 4’s over the past few months

where was your check since April? why didnt they cash it in April?

In short, what the above link says is that if it is entered into the system, it will say pending. If you receive your package back BEFORE it is entered in the system (and is listed as pending) then you have never started the process, your package has no “place in line” and is simply treated as a new application and it begins anew….at the bottom of the pile.

Do not confuse the above situation with a package that has been entered into the system, is pending, then has been reviewed right prior to approval and a correctable administrative error is found……when that is returned for correction, you will keep your place in line and when the correction is returned the package will likely be approved shortly thereafter.

On a whim I called again yesterday. My form 4 was approved on the 14th of December. I am confused because when I called on the 23rd, they told me it was “Pending.” Yesterday when I called, the lady that told me it was approved on the 14th also told me that if my dealer does not get the paperwork within 30 days, he can call and request a copy. I called my bank and my check has still not been cashed. Not sure what to think about that.
Is it always this big of a hassle to get a stamp?

Whoa! Talk about lucky! You got caught in a massive confusion mess and it cam out right for you. And it looks like you may get a “ATF stupidity” discount on top of it.

Glad you didn’t get dropped to the back like the ATF has been telling folks they have done.

My check took five weeks to cash so 7-10 days is extremely good, it can be a lot worse.

Who do I contact for info on a paper form 4 trust on a suppressor bought at a LGS? Form 4 dated June 2, credit card charged July 8. I was beginning to wonder where I might be in the line. I know the LGS will contact me when approved but just wondering who I might call.

If you read some of the other threads you will see they are on applications with checks cashed mid-May. You will also read that there are many, many submissions around that time period and that you are likely several months out…maybe out until July for your approval. If you call ATF the best they can tell you is that you are pending.

I contacted the NFA at the 6 month time (Dec. 2016) and they said it was looking more like 8 months. I called a few days ago and it was still pending. The bar chart makes it appear as the wait is now 10 months. I wish there was a good hard answer on this wait period.

No posts to form 4 trust in a week. Seems like folks are getting their calls and abandoning this site once it’s no use. Please enter your info.

It’d be great if one of the sponsors, or a couple, would port in redacted data to keep the sample size large – maybe SilencerShop or someone? More data points is always good.

Thanks to some sort of snafu, my FFL that’s sitting on my 2 cans (SilencerCo Hybrid, SilencerCo Sparrow) got their FFL license pulled.

This joy just gets better and better and better… no telling now HOW long this is going to take to get me my cans…

Am I the only one out there still waiting for their stamp on a form 4 paper trust for a suppressor with a check cashed date of 5-30-2016? Anyone? Anyone?
I am seeing stamps are being received from check cashed dates in June.
