I called ATF today and my form 4 is with a research assistant. I was transferred to their phone and left a voicemail. What happens now?

Its a wonder you got told what you did. All i get is its pending and they cant see any other information. Not sure who’s worse, the department of motor vehicles or the ATF.

I spoke with Jessica a research assistant at ATF after I left her a voicemail when I was transferred. She said my background check is awaiting the FBI approval. And she couldn’t tell me how long because the FBI is another agency. Fingers crossed hopefully soon.

I’ve been waiting since 9/28/18 so I’m sure I have months to go (Dead Air Mask Suppressor). I am curious to know if I were to efile somewhere and get a can for my hunting rifle if the second efiled request would come in faster than the Form 4 individual and have that before hunting season in early October.

You cannot efile for a Form 4 at this time. You can only do so for a Form 1. The answer to your question is no.

Since this E-file topic has re-emerged, I will once again post the question that no one will answer. Since no Form4 E-filing has happened since April, 2014, why does this site have a bar on the graph for F4 Individual- E-file? If you try to filter on the Wait Time graph checking only the boxes for Form 4 Individual and E-file, it will give results for Form 4 Trust-Efile (which I do not think is a real category either). That is, it won’t show any results related to the bar graph. This implies that the F4 Individual -E-File bar has no real data behind it. BUT, I have noticed that the numbers change over time! For a long time it showed 188 days between check cashing and approval. But now it says 195 days. How can a bar with no data change? I have posed this question to the admin of the tracker to no avail. And I’ve posed this question on the forums a couple of times. Can anyone answer this? (of course it is just my curiosity working here. It is of no consequence.)
        Until next time….

Okay here’s the deal. The reason form 4 eform is on there because no one gives a shit, 95%of people don’t even update the graph at all. All the issues in wait time are from people with common names getting hits from the 6 databases they use and these Losers Who have a criminal record of some kind, “we’ll i was arrested but the court expunged it” GET REAL.the ATF does the background checks—plain and simple. They don’t scan fingerprints and they don’t go to the FBI. I rolled my own fingerprints on the forms I requested from ATF using an office ink pad, I’m a normal guy just. No one has to get them done professionally. Think about it. I had a from 1 e filed 11-1-18 not some silencer-shop shit, did it via ATF website, took a photo on iPhone rolled my own prints, received the cover letter and sent next Day fingerprints with the cover letter, fingerprints done on my own approved 11-11-18. YOU think that shit was sent to the FBI? NO. I will re iterate—it’s these misdemeanor people who say ohh well I get approved buying a gun but I’m stuck in FBI backlog that keeps us waiting. They’re the problem!

Only the Form 1 can be Efiled. You would have to build the can.

    Happy Day!

Ten months to the day since I purchased this item.
The day I purchased it I was told 5 months.
After 5 months I called the LGS to see if he lost my phone number. I was told it was 6-8 months.
After 8 months I called the folks at NFA and was told I was “pending” and they were averaging 9 months.
After 9 months I overheard discussions about 10-12 months.
It seems I called about a week ago and was told it was “pending”. No further info.
Then today, like a bolt out of the blue, I get the call.
This whole process was certainly a lesson in how to manage disappointment.
