I’m sorry for the false alarm guys, I think I got caught up in the excitement and whatnot and thought it would be legit.

Not your fault. We all fell for the HPA/Silencerco hype and after all this waiting it is easy to hang on every word of change and improvement.

Shame on Texas Silencer, not you.

Yes, Shame on Texas Silencer. Because it looks more and more like a way to direct traffic to there site. All of the social media got hit hard. And now, well we see nothing. Im very disappointed in these ppl. Because if this is how you do your sales and marketing. I’ll stay away from your customer service when there is a problem with a product.

I just posted this to Texas Silencer’s Facebook page, let’s see what happens now.

“Ya’ll should give us more details or an explanation about your post on Aug. 2 talking about some big news from the ATF. Because right now a few people, including myself, are starting to think this was a marketing ploy to get more people to view your page and website. And here take a look for yourself about what we are saying. https://www.nfatracker.com/community/topic/form-4-individual/ Start at this post (20170802 at 6:02 pm) and read down if you don’t believe me.”

You’re my hero lol. I saw you posted on a silencer shop post a few days ago and I was like, “That’s probably BRanger.” I thought about calling out Texas Silencer but I didn’t want to get that generic response saying they don’t want to spread information they aren’t 100% on (then why make the announcement?).

Hahaha. Thank’s. But I did get a generic response. Hell it was a copy and paste response. Due to my name is not Michael. Here it is. I also called them out on using a copy and paste response.

“Hi Michael. We have been replying to individual comments on the previous post as fast as we can. There are more details coming but we are in the process of validating our information and source credibility before posting. Our goal is to provide information we have properly vetted before releasing an official statement.”

I replied backed “Thank’s for the copy and paste response. Because last I checked my name is not Michael.”

Now that’s just lazy, and somewhat disrespectful.

I looked at their products and I will not be using them either….What are they making the cans out of …depleted uranium? At 26 ozs for a 30 cal HUNTING can you would need a gun bearer to cart the damn things around. The Gemtech Tracker is less than 12 ozs and 2 inches shorter and isn’t significantly louder for a hunting can.

But even more than that is the irresponsibility of posting what they did and how they did…either click bait or they are gullible and foolish.

I don’t know what they are up to. Yea, that is way to heavy to put on the end of a gun. I was looking on their website seeing if they offer anything else, the only thing they were selling was that HUNTER can. And I swore I saw them talk about one other can they made, but I could not find it.

They use heat treated stainless steel surrounded by a tough steel body. So that solves why they are so heavy.

I really do not think they had any bad intentions in posting what they did, they just misread what was told to them and got overly excited. We are all frustrated with the long wait times and have a tendency to latch on to anything that signals that it will shorten. Just be patient and the approvals will come.

Well I just got a message back from TSC apologizing for their reply to my post. Here it is.

“Hi (insert name here), my name is Kaitlyn and I’m the Director of business development for TSC and I’m the one who pasted the response in a hurry. I apologize deeply for the error. I was rushing through posts and didn’t stop to realize my mistake. I hope you can accept my deepest apology.”

I did accepted their apology. Still not doing business with them due to they only have one suppressor model and I can find lighter and shorter at the same price if not cheaper.

Gotta love Silencer Shop for those cheaper prices, am I right?? In other news, I just bought my third can today, even though I’m waiting on my first two. F4 individual, Radical Firearms RF22 .22 can.

Texas Silencer Co put out the statement we’ve been waiting for on their Facebook page. I guess all the harassing paid off. Lol!

Faster form 3 approval and 6 month turn around. Huh, imagine that.

Form 4 in 2015 were taking 4 months and form 3 30 days………so an improvement over now, yes; historic, no.

12 months to 6 months is a great improvement, but is still too long. I have a feeling that as wait times decrease, more people will jump back on the NFA item wagon and start buying again. Naturally times will increase unless they put in a much better process. Working 7 days a week isn’t going to last forever, and the government loves making budget cuts so how long until they go back to 5 days a week and lower the number of examiners. I don’t like being a pessimist, but I don’t see this improvement lasting long unless they make a process overhaul.

6 months is no great improvement. In 2015, form 4 trusts and individuals were getting approvals in the 90-120 day window and form 3 transfers were getting approved in 30 days or less….. and this was before the “efficiency” reorganization and hiring of extra examiners and overtime.

To say that 6 months is an improvement (and it is for those just now in the game over the last year) is nothing more than asking those of us who have been in this game for a while to suspend our medium to long term memory.

Go up the scatter graph for form 4 trusts and individuals and see what I mean

i’ll admit, i’m a newbie to this stuff (1st and 2nd form 4 sent May 2017). So I didn’t know times were THAT quick. Although, I wonder if times will ever get back to that due to NFA items becoming more popular.

They were that popular then also. There were more submitted in 2015 than there were post 41f to present.

What you are seeing is the affect of panic buying due to hype around the 41f and the election. Those that were on the edge but previously hadn’t committed, bought.

If times were to get down to 4 months or less consistently I will be buying A LOT more. I don’t do long range so short barrels are great for me and suppressors are just a no brainer.

The logic escapes me. Wait 5 or 6 months for the wait to get down to 4 months then buy instead of buying now and waiting say 7 months and getting your can 2 to 3 months sooner than waiting to buy?

Waiting to buy until demand picks up means less availability and no sales (and potentially higher costs)

I just realized that the Form 3 section hasn’t had any traffic in 2 months, so here it is.

I understand that Form 3 times have dramatically improved as of last week, but please bear with me:

I ordered my first suppressor through Silencer Shop (SS) back in mid October of 2016, the form 3 cleared in the middle of November and they shipped it to my local FFL the day it was approved with a tracking number sent to me (the can is still in NFA jail). I ordered my second can back in mid May of 2017, the form 3 was approved in late June and they still have not shipped it to my FFL. I emailed them this past Friday and they said they’re probably shipping it this week. I bought another can (yes, I have a problem) yesterday 8/6/17 and I got the final form 4 email this morning saying that Roy signed my Form 4 and they submitted it to the ATF as it says on my user dashboard on the SS online sight, but the form 3 is “ready for submission”. I guess I stemmed this in to more than a simple question, but as a rant. Sorry. But don’t they have to wait until the form 3 clears to submit my form 4 to the ATF? Additionally, has anyone else experienced a shipping delay from SS after the Form 3 cleared?

I swear if they send out my third can before my second, I’m going to raise hell they were both in stock the days I ordered them and they basically have the same serial numbers.

    Sorry for the rant!

I did my paperwork with SS in Feb. I want to say that my Form 3 was approved in March. and the store got it sometime in late June or early July. But I was never informed that it had left SS or got a tracking number for it.

I guess I’m just a little type A when it comes to this then. I’ll just keep annoying them with emails until they send me tracking numbers for the pair.

My question is: What difference does it make if you can’t take possession of them until the shop has the form 4 stamp in their possession? Technically under the law, it is not yours until the Feds say it is and that includes filling out a ATF form 4473 at your store that it was shipped to. In essence, your payment is nothing more than a “deposit” until you are legally approved to own it.

If i was informed correctly some 07/SOT have the ability to do your form 4 before they actually have possession of the can. And im pretty sure S.S.has that ability. And as for the deposit on the can. Yes, thats pretty much it. Think about it this way. If for some reason your denied,or something comes about that you can not own it. Or you up and die. Then your dealer has to sell it to someone else. Thus starting the procedure all over again. I know a dealer that has 3 cans and a HK sub gun. All approved and paid for 16 yrs now. The buyer was injured in a motorcycle crash. And has been in a coma ever since. And technically he is still alive. And until his death. They are in limbo. No, they where not in a trust. Quite the mess….

Hi, first time caller, long time listener.

I finally pulled the trigger and got my first suppressor… well, started the process to my first suppressor. I purchased it on July 20th and my pack got dropped off on the 21st but didnt go out till the 22nd of July. ATF took their money on the 26th… and now I wait…. and wait… and wait…

One thing about my dealer is if I so wish, I can go up there and borrow to shoot on site, just cant take it home… didnt ask how that effects things if someone gets denied… but something to pass the time I suppose. Wait time is gonna kill me.

Co-worker purchased 2 suppressors, but through a trust… so we are waiting to see what happens first and when… nothing like some competition.

So I found out I have “visitation rights” to my suppressors at my local FFL and gun range. If I would’ve known this past November when it got there, that would’ve been great lol. Plus they got a new NFA manager that actually calls customers when their stuff comes in and they’re available to shoot while waiting on stamps. I know what I’m doing tomorrow!

That’s what the lady said lol. That drive sounds brutal. I have to drive about an hour to my “local” gunsmith, so i feel his pain a little bit.

haha, I like it, it works. Well, what really sucks for him is I think he said they dont even have a range… just sell stuff… so if wait time is a punch to the gut.. does that make it a kidney shot now? I am 30 minutes away from mine and resisting the urge to go ahead and get another suppressor so I can have it there to shoot too… but I gotta buy new barrels first before I can use them… but it would be so much fun… cant stop modding vehicles, cant stop modding guns… I think I have a problem.
