Other than calling in and receiving the same details as hallnh added above. Thanks for posting, hallnh. I gotta say this is the best news I’ve read thus far. The check for my Form 4 Individual cashed May 14th also. I’m a coward and cannot really say how I’d cope if I called myself and got the phone rep. having a bad day or hates the job and just rudely repeats “pending” and offers nothing else. Would ruin my weekend. Perhaps I’ll take my chances earlier next week?

Congrats John. It’s a relief to read about these approvals. Yours approved last week even. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and reach out to the branch office Monday.

Thanks, but the damn thing still hasn’t arrived. I live in Billings, MT and I guess the Pony Express Rider got hung up in the snow between here and the east coast! 😉 Giving the shutdown time frame, I would expect yours to be ready the end of next month. Waiting is a killer! At least mine was purchased through an indoor range and I was able to go down and use it on their premises. That gave me chance to make adjustments to the AR’s that I will use it on. If you are going to use it on Semi-Autos, you most likely WILL want to make changes so it doesn’t beat the action(s) to death. That’s assuming you are waiting for a suppressor. I have 4 AR’s, 1 pistol (223), 2 .223 rifles and a 308 AR. Hard to wait this last week!

Silencer Shop purchase Surefire SOCOM 556RC2 April 17th 2018.
Silencer Shop Order details indicate check cashed May 14th 2018.

Called NFA Branch Office Feb. 12th @ 12:20 PM MT. Advised APPROVED February 6th 2019. Last Wednesday.

I feel like heading over to the Dealer every day at mail time and watch out for my stamp. During prior visits I’ve overheard the knucklehead “arms dealers” hem and haw about who was going to make the calls and how no one wanted to do it and “just set them aside for later”. I didn’t think much of it at the time because I didn’t fully understand the magnitude and duration of this entire process.

Hey Pete! Congrats. Would you believe I am still waiting for that damn stamp on my Jan 30th approval?

Just called my dealer and nothing yet. Their mail should arrive on the next 20 or 30 minutes. Fingers crossed. 😉

I’ve been reviewing other posts and the Reddit mega-thread on February approvals. Trying to placate my mind about when I may get “the” call. Along with comparing USPS product delivery maps and the calendar. There are just too many variables to make a good guess as to when the stamp is actually handed off to the USPS and when the mail will arrive. Just something else we cannot control in the wait. Keep posting.

Question guys. I just took my sbr home today and as I was cleaning it up I noticed it was shot at the dealer while waiting on my stamp. I took the gun completely down and cleaned it the day I tested it and boxed it up myself. I sent the paperwork in that day. Is this normal or should I raise Hell with the shop? I am definitely upset especially since I had paid fully for the item at this point.

    Any advice would be nice.
    Thanks

John, I’m sorry to read that your approved stamp hasn’t been delivered. Where are you located? Sorry, I re-read above, Billings MT. My folks reside outside Cody WY and believe it or not have amazingly predictable USPS delivery.

hallnh, I would be livid pissed. This entire time I’m thinking my brand new suppressor is sitting in the dealer safe waiting on my stamp. When I go to retrieve my silencer and discover it’s been used. I cannot post the words to describe how angry I would be. That’s simply wrong on so many levels.

Check cashed on May 14, 2018 for integral suppressed rifle Form 4 Individual and checked today and was told still pending not assigned yet…270 days and counting. Was told govt shutdown had stopped all processing and hopefully they would get to it soon.

Still considering the shutdown it appears they are back to being in chronological order and are deyond mid May by now? The shutdown had the effect of being a pause button. It also appears approvals are dated on weekend days and not just M – F. Examiners working weekends and extra hours? I’d bet you’re next in line?

I called The NFA branch on 2/12/18 to ask about my form 4 individual submission. Check cashed 5/23/18 and all they would tell me that it was still pending no more. How do you all get information out of them? I want to know where in the system it is still pending at?

    Purchased 3/19/2018
    Check cashed 4/19/2018
Pending FBI BG for at least 2-3 months. Called yesterday…still waiting on FBI BG. I’m just going to forget about it AGAIN like I did when I first bought it. My 4th stamp so far and I’ve never had to deal with this before. This whole BS is ridiculous. Praying to the ATF gods that 5 & 6 will be faster.

Hi John, Interesting. Disappointing to read actually. I did call my dealer this afternoon again. I admit I called yesterday also. I am trying to avoid jumping to conclusions so soon. They said today they received their first two stamps since the re-open. Neither of which of course had my name. I asked the Rep. for just the approval dates of the two stamps they received today, which he said was inappropriate for him to share with me. WTH? I read on another thread someone who resides in WA State with same day approval as mine yet received his stamp yesterday already. His dealer is twice as far away from WV as mine thus I don’t feel my expectations are unreasonable. I’m just avoiding having to wait one day more than necessary. This anticipation is painful at times. Much worse than before someone said the word approved to me. Good for you staying positive about this cluster. My dealer changed addresses from the time I submitted my Form 4. Returned to sender because no such address is the source of my “premature” anxiety.

Wow! No wonder you are having anxiety attacks! It is past the point today for a phone call from my dealer today adding to my frustration. It is really a bummer having to wait the 30 days to request a copy. I am pretty sure the USPS has hosed me. It doesn’t take 2 or 3 weeks to get a mailed item from WV to Montana, despite the weather up here. Fingers tapping on my desk waiting… Lemme know when if/when you get your stamp!

        TTYL…

It’s gut wrenching. This is the first morning I’m starting to read through various posts of several people who’ve had stamps approved later than mine and have their stamps in hand. Obviously, John, the concern for you weighs much heavier as it’s been far too many delivery days, even for the USPS, for something to not have gone wrong. I’m not telling you anything you haven’t already considered.

I visited my Dealer Friday afternoon because it was payday and I’m in the market for one of the new M17. I was walking around inside the shop for 1/2 hour and no one said a word to me. It was rather awkward. This is the same Dealer receiving my stamp. I left and purchased my new Sig elsewhere and paid an extra $25. I know these guys work on some sort of commision. Not that the loss of my business would be of any concern for them. I have several choices for Dealers in this town and I have chosen poorly for sure. Once I receive my stamp my next mission will be to tell everyone who will listen, not to visit this Gun shop. Our rights are scrutinized more than ever these days, I cannot imagine this Dealer will be around for the next generation of firearms enthusiast.

Hey John, I logged in to reply to your post specifically. I do not see an update from you. My Dealer called me this morning and I promptly went and retrieved my Silencer. Approved February 6th in hand February 19th, 13 days. I’ll be thinking about you but I may not be returning to post here until I decide to wait out another Form 4 which may be this time next year if I can muster the courage to do this all over again and buy a 22 can here soon. Good luck to you and thanks for reading and responding to my posts.

I’ve been busy for the last few days and haven’t had a chance to up date my status!

        Approved 1/30/19
Arrived: Not so much yet! 22 days and still waiting. Ugh! What a bitch!

Waiting on the approval for my 3rd can. Check cashed 1/28/18. My other 2 cans only took about 10 months for approval. It’s just me in my gun trust.
