Mochool, if had not had the application from November I highly doubt the one from March would have been approved so soon. I feel like if you already have one on the books they will batch them. (In most cases)

Since it was approved a few days later, I figured that Robin just happened to remember your name and chose to expedite it (after confirmation that your details were the same).

It would be nice if there was a consistent batching process. With everything being entered into a digital system, there is no reason the examiners couldn’t do a query for any other outstanding forms and batch approve them at that time. It would be a tremendous time saver while reducing the processing overhead.

My FFL said that 3 people inside their store(worked there) applied and all 3 had their stamp back in 84 days.

I could only hope for that!

Nice to see the first Form 4 individual approval submitted in April, with check cash date April 23. Yea!
Yet there are still several dozen pending for the first three months of this year.

      Any help or similar issues?

      Type: Form 4 Individual
      Purchased 10/28/19
Mail in through shop fingerprints/ Credit card number for stamp
Card ran: has not been charged
Called a week ago and gun store replied “ it’s on an examiners desk”

What does this mean, how much longer till they charge the 200 or till I am close to approved. 311 days in and no sign of anything!

It seems most are charged for the stamp from 2-3 weeks after its was mailed in. I would call directly get the status of your transfer from the ATF, call the NFA Branch at: (304) 616-4500.

When you call, they will ask for your name, the serial number of the suppressor, and the name of the transferor.
I would not call the gun dealer.

All they gave me was a receipt from the shop stating I paid in full for the suppressor. Is that something I should ask for a copy of from the shop?

was this a SilencerShop affiliated store? Did you use a kiosk that took prints? If so, your copy of the F4 probably should have been emailed to you

Or, did you fill in the F4 yourself and turn into store for them to handle the process?

The dealers actions you describe sound either shady or inept, or possibly he just doesn’t care.

If the dealer did your paperwork for you, they should have gave you a copy.

If you prepared the paperwork and for some reason turned over to dealer for submission, you should have kept a copy.
Same scenario if you mailed it to ATF, keep copies.

I would be sitting at the dealer next day asking for the S/N of your can. They should have it stored there waiting for F4 approval to turn over to you.
If they can’t produce it, a copy of your filed F4, or the S/N of the can, I would start thinking something went very wrong in this process.

The dealer telling you your F4 is on an examiners desk is a shit answer. I can 99% guarentee they didn’t call the ATF to check on your specific can. Once they sell the can and F4 sent, they want it off the active books but do not normally do your work of calling the ATF for status checks.

Not sure how credit cards work with ATF, but my check was never cashed by the check number. There was a weird electronic withdrawal for 200 but did not correlate to the check. When the ATF gets your money, they go to work on your F4. My other doings through the SS kiosk was real easy and I just paid SS via their site for the stamp plus small fee.

You or dealer probably should have been contacted by now if the S/N was left of form

I could drone on….but I’m sure others eyes are getting tired of reading my rant.

Get to the dealer, get S/N, call ATF for status.

They are a family run business is a medium size town. I go there regularly and they are always honest and have good customer service. I know the guys daughter( pretty much runs it) calls at least once a week cause her and someone at the branch for our area are good friends. I did a paper form for them and the finger prints and pictures at the same place. Ima go tomorrow and ask for a copy of the for 4 and a Serial for the can.

I don’t know what date it was approved yet. My dealer said they have it in hand and I can pick it up 9/9/20, they received it same day they notified me. I’ll repost the approval date when I pick it up this weekend…,
