This is the response I got back this morning, from someone OTHER than the person I had been dealing with:
There have been significant processing delays with both ATF and FBI due to Covid. Additionally there has been a dramatic spike in gun sales and requests for Form 1 and Form 4 submissions in anticipation of the November election.
Your form is in Pending Research. Pending Research is currently four weeks delay from date of submission. As you indicated in your prior email the average wait time of 30 days doesn’t include Pending Research or Delayed background status. Less than 4% (+/- 2%) daily of eForms 1 are directed to Pending Research and approximately 5% (+/- 2%) daily are returned as Delayed background status. This leaves over 90% of forms which process in 30 days or less.
