235 days after check cashed i get a courtesy notice from ATF stating my “application was returned to your transferor/dealer for necessary correction”. contacted my dealer and they hadn’t yet received anything from atf.

anyone run into this so far after the fact? had assumed since check was cashed on 4/26, i was getting real close. i hope not to be put on the bottom of the pile now!

Happened to me on a Form 1 last September. It doesn’t put you at the back of the line.

As I understand the process, your form gets assigned to a “research assistant” who checks for obvious errors on the form. Yours must have found one or two.

Once your form is corrected and sent back, it’ll be sent directly back to that research assistant. If there are no errors, they’ll then send it to the reviewer for the final stamp.

Should only delay you a week or two. Still, it’s quite a let-down.
